TINE DEBOELPAEP (1992, BE) studied Fine Arts at KASK, Ghent and cultural management at U Ghent. In the past, she has combined her artistic practice with working as a curator and cultural animator (at Ontsteking, Ghent and Nadar, Ghent.) In her works, Tine explores the tension between authenticity and honesty vs manipulation and artificiality, embodied in the eclectic formal language of her sculptures. She is currently developing research around self-care as an artistic practice.

ELLA DE BURCA (1986, IR) lives and works in Brussels, where she is currently engaged in a practice-based PhD at KU Leuven/LUCA, revolving around the 'modes of spectating'. Her practice, spanning across performance, sculpture, and poetry, focuses on "how humans construct meaning, particularly from a female perspective". She is especially interested in "how we perform as 'viewer,' and the discourse surrounding active versus passive experiences."

ELENI KAMMA (1973, GR) is based between Brussels and Maastricht. She is currently a PhD Arts candidate at Leiden University and KABK in the Hague. Her research revolves around the notion of 'parrhesia', which implies "not only freedom of speech, but also the obligation to speak the truth for the common good, even at personal risk, by questioning how the notion of entertainment relates to personal expression and public participation." Eleni's artistic practice "develops performative strategies and creates temporary spaces of shared experience, where co-creation may be possible."

TALKS is a series of meetings, which can also veer into a debate, a presentation, or a performance. We invite artists at different stages of their careers to present their works (especially works-in-progress or yet unrealised ideas), to share their doubts and questions, and to exchange feedback in an informal atmosphere. They're always constructive but also fun. If you'd like to be a part of TALKS in the future, drop us a line.
